What is Multicasting and HD2/HD3 Channels?
Multicasting allows you to broadcast multiple channels on one frequency. These extra channels are called HD2 and HD3 channels. For example, if your radio station's frequency is 97.1, the main analog channel is also broadcast in digital technology on 97.1-HD1. The next option moving up the dial is 97.1-HD2. The next is 97.1-HD3. These are all different channels. With Multicasting through HD Radio technology, you can offer your listeners a variety of options.
