Using receivers as member gifts
WAMU is just one of many public radio stations that use HD Radio receivers as member gifts during their annual membership campaigns. It’s a great opportunity to promote the extra offerings on HD2 and HD3 channels, while also giving the most valued members a really great gift.
WAMU focuses on the very popular HD2 channel, Bluegrass Country, available on 88.5-HD2. With a donation of $500, listeners get an HD Radio receiver to listen to Bluegrass Country.
WAMU even held an Open House for the Bluegrass Country channel where listeners could come and sample various HD Radio receivers.
